What an ordeal… I had to buy 2 R spoilers and go through 3 paint jobs before I was happy. On the third paint job, I ended up taking the spoiler to a different, painter-owned shop where the guy sanded down the clear coat and redid it. He did a great job and was able to take out all the imperfections that existed previously, finally giving me a product I deemed worthy. Too bad it took so much time and money to get to this point. I was pretty apprehensive when it finally came time to install the spoiler, because I would’ve been back to square one if something didn’t go right. Thankfully, you can almost always count on OEM fitment.
Alas, my car is finally ready for the roads again and my compunctions mollified. If all goes well, I can now check off the Miata as “DONE“.
